Response to a post on PLT1.com

I have become aware that a resent post on www.PLT1.com has stirred up a bit of feeling amongst those who hold a strong  belief in the church. Now I can see why this might happen. So I wanted to respond to what was written.

I think this will have to be in two parts as there is so much to respond to. This first post will be about the first half of Lord_Riff_Raff's post. Then latter I will get on to the rest of what was said.

Now as most of you know I have done a bit of study in this area being that I'm in the last semester of my Degree at Bible College of New Zealand. So I think it might be safe to say that I can respond to it.

I have to say that most of the first half is well, right. You don't have to talk to many Christians to find out that they could not really tell you the Theological difference between a Baptist and a Anglican church. The main reason why some one goes to a specific church is the feel of it. Weather it is friendly, if they feel welcomed, the worship style, and so on. I think the major thing that Lord_Riff_Raff has missed is that most people these days would not see them self's as Anglican or Baptist they see them self's as Christian.

But this dose not make it acceptable that people don't actually understand what their church believes. I see membership to a church as vital. This is for a whole host of reasons. Being able to identify your self with a common group of people who can offer support and advice is one of the main roles of the church.

But why don't people understand some fundamentals of their faith? Lord_Riff_Raff has used the example of adult and child baptism. Now this should at least cause some thought to be provoked. But as Lord_Riff_Raff pointed out it doesn't for the most part.  I think one of the problems is people are just to lazy to spend a bit of time reading and finding out these things. Gone are the days of 1st century Christianity where it took 3 years to become a member of the church and you would have to know all this backwards. But I also don't think this would be the answer, or could it? I think we can look at the church leadership for some answers. As are they teaching us or talking to us about these important issues?

Now about that little pretty graph. I have to say that its kinda right. You would find the red sector in most church's. But isn't that what is meant to be in a church. If you had everyone with all the knowledge and belief then how would that make it a journey of Faith? It also would raise the question of growth in your church. The diverse nature of the church is what makes it so great. If you were all the same it would make it boring.

But yes from this point growth must occur. It can never say still. We should all ways be in discussion with each other to extend our understanding for what we hold so true to ourselves. This leads into the second half of Lord_Riff_Raff post. Which I will wright on soon.

The Role of the Church and the Bible.

I realize I shouldn't expect any members of this community to be skilled.. but ALL these things are required for any dota player to learn.
I don't usually like guides, but I glanced at dota-allstars and found a few decent ones.
By the way, there is not a single member here who could not benefit from this.
oh and you should ALWAYS have this open when you play:

Last Hitting:

This just drives me nuts. I cannot comprehend how this is not assumed. I am also amazed how few BLW members do this.. at all. Or even some of the other clans are rather weak at it =/
DO NOT ATTACK CREEPS MORE THEN ONCE.
This applies until ATLEAST 60 minutes in to the game. If you are doing anything but this you are:
1. Pushing the lane making us vulnerable to ganks and without the protection of the tower
2. Not farming well
3. Not denying [or at best, denying very little]
If you want to learn, 1v1 me with a range hero mid.
If you are in my lane and autoattacking, I'm dying a little inside.

Lane Control:

This guide is rather good [atleast the first two paragraphs I read] so I'll let him do this part.
Wards

Sentry Wards: Overrated for invis heroes, VASTLY underrated for countering obs. 200 gold > 300 gold ? gg.
Ob wards? "Unless your the carry hero or lategame hero, your prob gonna be ward bitch. Heres a simple guide showing the essential warding spots so you dont get flamed at."
West says it pretty good.
He also wrote a fantastic guide on the DGIv forums [for DGIo players? lol]

Animation Cancelling // Manual casting autocasts
Pretty minor issue except on heroes like CM [after bite/nova], Any hero with an autocast [silencer, viper, VISAGE, etc]
Basically you can move instantly after rather then waiting stupidly for the animation. GREAT for chasing with ALL heroes. If I'm host [and I've been practicing the hero] I can walk along side the hero without a slow or more movespeed.
Perfect example was seen in my enchant in old CAL matches.. to bad its gone now.
Glanced on DA and found this:

TP Scrolls [Includes BoT]
BUY THEM.
1. TP scrolls make towers invulnerable, making you able to deny 1200 gold [200x4 + 400 for the kill]
Also can kill a hero tanking it to finish it
2. You can TP on someone getting ganked and A) save them and B) get a kill
3. As for 2, DO NOT FORGOT TP SCROLLS CAN DO THIS ON THE TOWER. This is like EVERY hero is furion with better skills early game.
4. Farming without worry of missing pushes = more time farming = more gold = gg
5. When you use tp scrolls, ALWAYS click on a tower.
6. When using BoT, click on something that won't die [a siege is perfect] but prefferably not the tower because that will stop its attacking.
7. use it to escape JUST after you go up a hill INTO FOG? or into the forest.

Runes:

Runes spawn every two minutes. Pay attention to this, it is VERY valuable.
With heroes like tiny and tinker, this can make the different between 10-0 and 1-0 simply by taking oppurtunities.
Masterjoe likes to think hes good so..

Juking:

is fun.
That is all. I love this shit but I play to many blink heroes etc.

Items:

REGEN. TREE EATERS.
I see to many people going to there lane without. This is SUICIDE.
If I see an enemy with regen I laugh and they feed. The ONLY time regen is bleh is against lanes such as CM Lina [they will combo you at lvl 2] or if they have a gank orientated team [VENO, furion, bane, balanar? lol, etc]
Even then you cannot risk going without.
Sharing Control
If you heal, share control. it saves the chicken some time.
If you have a chicken, share.
I'm shocked to see a chicken in base and not have control.
I normally wouldn't even include this as it assumed, but.. yeah.
Vent
Get a mic. It's worth it. I would have quit dota without one long ago. some of the best times I've had playing this game have been 90% due to vent.
Also helps with coordinating and calling missing.
If your to cheap, download it.
30 seconds of your time and almost every dota community uses it. [Every?]
Used to be our meeting place when BLW was truly active.
Download. Now.
